The Lonestar UMUC Alumni Chapter has embraced a process, which has led to the completion of a 1-3 year strategic plan for the organization. The process facilitates the Lonestar UMUC Alumni Chapter's vision of the future needs of its members and the Chapter's options for satisfying those needs.

The Lonestar Board, led by Brian Parks, developed a strategic long-range plan based on the Porter strategic model (Porter, 1980). This document is referred to as the Working Strategic Plan. The title acknowledges it requires further, ongoing and specific attention by the Lonestar UMUC Alumni Chapter Board. The Board will continue to refine the document with plans to refine the goals and objectives.
