Online Community Login Student Mentoring - Alumni Association Student Support Program
Join a growing network of over 200 alumni volunteers offering their time and energy to mentor and network with current and future students. Share your UMUC experience and passion to encourage UMUC students' confidence in achieving their educational goals.

Participate in one or several volunteer activities—depending on your interests and availability. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available to you:
- UMUC 411 is a program created to orient new students to the online classroom environment and to educate them about UMUC. Alumni volunteers monitor the classroom and provide feedback to student inquiries. Volunteers must have taken at least one WebTycho course.
- Become an Alumni Ambassador and welcome students attending UMUC's in-person classes on the College Park campus. Twelve volunteers are needed each evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Help enhance UMUC students' experience and to boost their enthusiasm as they begin their classes at UMUC.
- The New Student Welcome Program allows alumni volunteers to call and welcome newly enrolled students to UMUC. Remember how overwhelmed you felt when you registered for your first class at UMUC? And how elated you were when you reached your goals and graduated? Now you can give back to UMUC and share your positive experiences with our newly enrolled students. Help make a difference in our students' educational success at UMUC. Training and resources are provided for all volunteers.
- The Allies Mentor Program lets volunteers mentor new students as they transition into study at UMUC. Each "Ally" is matched with a student based upon common academic majors or career interests. Ally-mentee discussions take place weekly via group e-mails. Training and ongoing support is available through the Academic Success Team.
The Alumni Association Student Support Program is a joint effort between UMUC's Enrollment Management and Academic Success teams. Alumni volunteer their support to help UMUC meet its high standards for student services and its commitment to the students' success.
