Catherine G. Kuenzel '99

Catherine G. KuenzelCatherine G. Kuenzel's record of service and accomplishment is exemplary. Like many of her fellow UMUC alumni, she overcame the difficulties of balancing a career with her studies and family life. Kuenzel currently serves as vice president of the federal civil programs business unit within the civil systems division of Northrop Grumman Information Systems, a premier provider of advanced information technology, engineering, and business solutions. She is responsible for development, delivery, operations, and maintenance of secure networks, applications, and solutions for the enterprise systems that support the mission critical operations and services of Northrop Grumman's Federal Civil Agency Customers. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, she served as area vice president of the advanced programs group at Oracle and vice president for Lucent Technology Advanced Program Group.

For her exemplary achievements and service, to UMUC and her community, UMUC is proud to name Catherine G. Kuenzel the Distinguished Alumna of 2011.

Cleveland “Joe” BroussardCleveland "Joe" Broussard has generously given his time and resources to support UMUC's mission and the Alumni Association. Since joining the Board of Directors five years ago, Broussard has served in a variety of leadership positions. As vice president of communications and vice president of membership, Broussard played a leading role in the board's successful social media campaign efforts. His innovative ideas and creativity continue to propel the Alumni Association's increased membership growth.

Broussard provided invaluable assistance in establishing a partnership between UMUC and ManTech International Corporation. This April, ManTech was the lead sponsor of UMUC's cybersecurity gala, which funded much-needed scholarships for UMUC cybersecurity students.

For his ongoing leadership and significant contribution to the UMUC Alumni Association and the university, UMUC is proud to name Cleveland "Joe" Broussard the 2011 recipient of the Edward A. Parnell Outstanding Alumnus Service Award.
